On Nov.21, as the T7H engines of SINOTRUK HOWO began to roar, the nationwide finale of 2016 SINOTRUK MAN® High-efficient Oil-saving Live Challenge unveiled itself in Ji’nan. Despite plunging temperature and bone-chilling ice rain, the contestants were fearless. In the end, Wu Tielu, a driver from Hangzhou region, won the champion of the finale with the result of 36.3 liters of oil consumption for a hundred kilometers and accepted the big prize of cash worth CNY 50,000 Yuan.

Rounds after Rounds of Fierce Competition Results in the Records of Oil-saving Being Broken Again and Again

The whole event lasted for nearly 3 months and covered 7 cities，truck drivers actively participated. Through the regional contests, 14 drivers stood out from the rest  by virtue of their excellent oil-saving skills and entered the semifinal held in Ji’nan. It is worth mentioning  that all 14 contestants who entered the semifinal will be conferred the qualification and certificate of  “SINOTRUK Specially Appointed Trainerl”.

Amid the semifinal on Nov.20, the 14 contestants were divided into 4 groups by drawing lots. The vehicle used for the contest is HOWO-T7H540 6x4 equipped with MC 13 engine, the total weight of vehicle and cargo was  40 tons; the venue was a section of Qingdao-Yinchuan Expressway with the total distance of round trip at about 87 kilometers and time limit within 100 minutes. After ferocious competition, Wu Tielu from Hangzhou region, Gao Haijun from Guangzhou region, Wang Gang from Chengdu region defeated other contestants and entered the ultimate competition for champion.

On Nov.21, cold weather assaulted Ji’nan. The ponding road and wind force reaching 4-5 level with gust reaching 8 level aggravated the difficulty in the oil-saving contest. At last, Wu Tielu, with the result of 36.3L per hundred km, won the champion of the finale and Wang Gang, Gao Haijun, with the results of 37.58L and 38.49L per hundred km, respectively won the first and second runner-ups.

The Excellent Performance of MAN® Technology T7H All-series Products

The vision provided is broad and offered pretty much comfort. ”Wu Tielu, who comes from DEPPON Logistics and drives a VOLVO FM440 6*4 tractor in his work, was deeply impressed with the performance of HOWO.

Wang Gang, the first runner-up, is already a loyal user of HOWO T7H, whose work is transporting hazardous chemicals in Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan. His feeling about this contest is  “HOWO T7H is really faultless in regard to the water temperature. When I drove in Yuanmei and Panzhihua where the outside temperature reached 40 degree, with air conditioning on and the temperature of oil up, there’s still no problem with the temperature of the engine.”

Jin Lijun, one of the 14 semifinalists from DEPPON Logistics, who drives a BENZ truck in his work, spared no praise for the vehicle used in this contest: “HOWO T7H has a flexible maneuverability, pretty much comfort and abundant power! My overall impression on it is quite good.”

On the awarding ceremony held on the day of the of the finale, not only the finalists were heavily awarded, the Most Popular Player selected via online voting, and the Player with Most Potential, the Maneuvering Talent, the Outstanding Players and the Most Handsome Player selected based on their results in the contest, were also rewarded with vehicle purchasing coupons worth CNY 5,000 Yuan and exquisite limited-version vehicle model. Until then the competition  came to a successful close.
